A DUI/DWI is a felony in Canada and entrance to non-residents is tightly controlled. Please contact your attorney to learn more.
FELONY CONVICTION?
You may not clear customs if you have been convicted of a felony. Please contact your attorney to review the specifics of your case.
HOLD PLACED ON YOUR CARD AT CHECK IN
Whether you are traveling in the USA or outside of the USA, it is common practice for hotels to place a hold on your credit or debit card at check-in. The pre-authorization is used to ensure that you have sufficient funds available to cover any charges you may incur during your stay. When staying at an all inclusive resort, examples of additional charges could be: spa visits, up charge items such as vintage wines or specialty dining options not included in your all inclusive resort package.
PAYING WITH A DEBIT CARD
Debit cards have daily charge limits. Your daily charge limit may be as low as $500 per day.
Please confirm the daily charge limit with your bank prior to submitting a large debit card payment for your reservation. If you attempt to charge over your daily limit, your card will be declined.
FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEES
Credit and Debit Cards used outside of the USA, may be subject to a foreign transaction fee from your bank. Please contact your bank and verify if your card charges fees on foreign transactions.
All Inclusive Resorts do not operate like hotels in the USA. Each person occupying a room at an all inclusive resort is charged a cost. If you are going to add an additional traveler to your room (even for only a few nights), that person’s name must appear on your reservation with the resort.
The reservation may be subject to repricing should the total occupancy number change on your reservation. (i.e. two travelers are sharing a room and a roommate has to cancel at the last minute, the room WILL BE repriced at single occupancy and the remaining traveler will be responsible for paying the difference)
Resorts have room occupancy max capacity based on room categories. If your reservation request exceeds the maximum occupancy allowed for that room category, we will not be able to process your reservation.
Airport Transfers
FLIGHT DETAILS ARE REQUIRED TO BE SHARED WITH CHRISTI NO LESS THAN 45 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE
Failure to submit your flight information via the flight data submission form within 45 days of your departure date, will result in a cancellation of your ground transportation. You will NOT be refunded any costs of the transportation. It will be up to you to find your own transportation to and from the resort if you do not submit your flight details at least 45 days from your date of departure.
Our transportation vendors need this information timely so that they can staff up to the level needed for your arrival and departure dates.
ASSIGNED PICK UP TIME
Please note that our trusted airport transportation providers are continuously monitoring the length of time it takes to get you from your resort to the airport.
International return home flights do require a 3 hour prior to flight time check in. While you may feel that your pick up time is too early, please remember that the transportation teams are keeping an eye on road construction, road blocks, accidents, the length of time it is taking to clear security at your departure airport. There are so many factors that go into determining your assigned pick up time.
Should you opt to modify your pick up time with the transportation company, please note that your advisor Christi McGown and DestinationWeddings.com WILL NOT be held liable for any additional costs you may face if you were to miss your return flight.
Is Tipping Required?
No. Tipping is not required. However, if you find that you are receiving excellent service that you would like to recognize with a tip you are welcome to do so at this resort.
Who May We Tip?
1. Transfer Driver: You are encouraged to tip your transfer driver to and from the resort. A $10-20 tip for a couple traveling with just a few bags is a sufficient level of a tip. If your ride to the resort is under 30 minutes, a $10 tip should suffice. If you ride to the resort is longer than 30 minutes, you may opt for the $20 tip.
2. Resort Wait Staff: You are welcome to tip anyone on the resort staff who has gone above and beyond in showing you good service. It is customary to leave a small tip when you have experienced great service at one of the sit down restaurants.
3. Pool Food/Beverage Staff: Often there will be an assigned person working your area of the pool or beach. I typically chat the person up, ask them their name and find out what time their shift ends. By doing so, I hope I am conveying that I will be taking care of them later in their shift. Personally, I prefer to tip them out before they leave for the day. This keeps me from having to access cash each time we have bar service.
3. Spa Staff: Should you use the spa, it is customary to tip those who have provided Spa services to you.
What is an appropriate tip amount?
On resort, you may find that one of the bar staff continues to notice that you need a fresh drink. I usually tip those who are attentive to my drinks while I'm relaxing by the pool. Often, I will give them a few dollar bills when they first serve me and then tip them out again a larger amount when I'm putting in my last call order. Or, you can wait and give them a tip at the end of the day. Whatever is more comfortable for you.
In what currency should we tip?
You are welcome to tip in US Dollars or the local currency.
What if we run out of small bills during our trip?
Advice: See the bellman staff! The bellman staff often have smaller bills around middle of the day to late afternoon as guests have been departing and arriving the resort. Often the bellman staff is happy to assist you with breaking a large bill into smaller bills.
